Guidelines for Preparing Presentation

Dear Presenter,

Please note that abstracts will be published as submitted. Please find below guidelines for preparing your presentation. Contact us for any additional queries you may have.

Guidelines for preparing for oral presentation

  1. The content. An effective platform presentation should be clear, focused, and concise. Begin your presentation by introducing yourself and stating your name, and your co-authors name on title slide. Avoid overcrowding the slides, as this can make them less appealing and harder to follow. When presenting results, focus solely on those that highlight the key findings of your research. The final slide should include a financial disclosure statement for all authors, either declaring any financial relationships with commercial entities or indicating that none exist. If no conflicts are present, the following statement may be used: “All authors have declared no conflict of interest.”
  2. Formatting of your presentation. Set the presentation slide size to widescreen (16:9) with landscape (horizontal) orientation. Limit the text on each slide to a maximum of 6 lines to maintain clarity. Choose simple, clear fonts, and avoid using more than two different font types to minimize distractions. Recommended fonts include Arial, Calibri or Sans Serif with a minimum font size of 28.
  3. How the oral presentation sessions will run: The primary author/ one of the authors should present the research in 5 minutes and take questions for 1 minute. Please take full responsibility for checking the schedule to ensure you know when and where you will be presenting.
  4. Load your presentation onto the system at the scientific desk in the morning of the day of your presentation. A technician will be available to help you.
  5. Be present at the room of your presentation 10 minutes before the respective session. If you are not present, the chair will move to the next presenter and your presentation may have to be moved to the end if time permits.

Design Tips for poster and E-Poster presentations

  • Keep your poster simple, clear, and concise. It should be visually appealing, but avoid overcrowding it with too much information. Leave ample white space to avoid clutter.
  • Ensure the font size is legible from at least one meter away (e.g., 16-18 for text and 24-36 for headings).
  • Present information in a left-to-right, top-to-bottom format, using columns and line breaks to organize content.
  • Summarize key points with bullet points instead of long paragraphs.
  • Maintain strong contrast between the background and text. Consider using a light-colored background with dark text. Avoid gradient backgrounds, especially black.
